Politically engagement in Australia appears, at least through my experience to be low, with a high level of cynicism. Creating political art in this context should be easy, with cheap and easy targets, yet I feel as though there is not a large amount of it in Australia.
Martyn’s collaboration with Sam Routledge as Blood Policy has produced the critically acclaimed work Operation. Blood Policy is a performance and media company creating theatrical works that deal with socio-political issues. The company will show their second work Computer Boy at Performance Space in may 2012 and goes into development on a third work I Think I Can in November 2012.
Whilst on residency in Taipei, Martyn created Bunker in 2006, which was a meditation on the poetics of language and isolation.
